Lung Hsiang Wong

Dr Wong Lung Hsiang is a Senior Education Research Scientist at the Centre for Research in Pedagogy and Practice, National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University (NTU). He also serves as an Adjunct Professor at Universitas Negeri Malang, Indonesia. He earned his Ph.D. in 1998 from NTU, specialising in computer engineering with a focus on artificial intelligence in education, particularly intelligent tutoring systems based on the inquiry teaching model. Notably, he is a leading researcher in mobile seamless learning, having developed the influential "10 Dimensions of Mobile Seamless Learning" (10D-MSL) framework. This framework has been widely cited, including in the "Innovating Pedagogy 2012 Report" by the Open University, UK, and the "Handbook of the Learning Sciences (2nd Ed.)." He has published over 50 SSCI/SCI-indexed journal articles, including recent work on AI in education and human-AI interaction. He has received numerous Best/Outstanding Paper Awards at conferences such as AI-ED'95, GCCCE'09, WMUTE'10, ICCE'11, mLearn'11 (two awards), GCCCE'13 (two awards), ICCE'15, and GCCCE'24. He received the prestigious APSCE Distinguished Researcher Award in 2015. He is currently a Managing Editor of the SSCI-indexed Asia-Pacific Journal on Education and a former Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Learning Technologies. He is recognised as a top-2% researcher worldwide according to an ongoing study by Stanford University. Dr. Wong is active in various international academic organisations. He is a former president of the Asia-Pacific Society on Computers in Education (APSCE) (2018-2019), an Executive Committee member of the Global Chinese Society for Computers in Education, a former Board Member of the International Alliance of Advancing Learning in the Digital Era (IAALDE) (2019-2024), and former Singapore representative of Technical Committee 3 (e-Learning), International Federation on Information Processing, UNESCO.
